Plate 29 from 'Illustrations de relation de l'ambassade anglaise', the first French edition of the official account of Captain Michael Symes's embassy to Burma in 1795. Symes's account of his expedition was Europe's first realistic account of Burma. The scene depicts three inhabitants of the southern shore of Mafumo River, Burma. The figure to the right is smoking bangue through a large pipe.
