A view of the Pissevache waterfall, located between Martigny and St. Maurice in the Valais region of Switzerland. A group of well dressed men and woman can be seen in conversation in the foreground, with one pointing towards the falls, to the right. From the 16th century, the Pissevache waterfall has been mentioned in some of the earliest travel accounts and has inspired many artists and alpinists. From the surrounding valley, it is clearly visible and easily accessible. By Swiss landscape painter and printmaker, Samuel Jakob Weibel (1771 - 1846).
