Odysseus lost six men to Scylla the six-headed monster and the whirlpool Charybdis. Homer's Odyssey, the Greek epic poem, as a sequel to the Illiad. The poem mainly centres on the Greek hero Odysseus, known as Ulysses in Roman myths, and his journey home after the fall of Troy. It takes him ten years to reach Ithaca after the ten-year Trojan War.
