Reddition de Madrid.

In 1808 following the Battle of Somosierra, San Juan raced his troops back to Madrid, however the French patrols reached the outskirts of the city on December 1. The Junta made a half-hearted and futile attempt to defend the capital, but a devastating French artillery barrage brought the Spanish defence to grief and they surrended everything to Napoleon.
