Done from one of the most capital Pictures of the Chevalier Vander Werf which was painted in the Year 1706 for the Elector Palatin, who presented it to Cardinal Ottoboni at Rome, after whose death it was brought into England by Robert Bragge M.D., and isnow in the Collection of the Rev:d D:r Newton.

Mezzotint, paper watermarked - 18th century paper, very rare. Plate 462 x 311mm (18¼ x 12¼"). Crease, cut to plate along left and lower edge; repair to lower right corner.
The rest on the flight to Egypt; the Holy Family in a landscape, the Virgin laying the Infant Jesus in a cloak to sleep on the ground, having fed him, the child holding a bunch of flowers in left hand, St Joseph sleeping with his head on his arms against a ruined wall.
