Sir Isaac Newton FRS (1643-1727), English physicist, mathematician, astronomer, natural philosopher, alchemist, and theologian. His 'Philosophię Naturalis Principia Mathematica' (1687) is considered to be among the most influential books in the history of science, laying the groundwork for most of classical mechanics. Engraved for Thomas Birch's 'Heads of Illustrious Persons of Great Britain'.
