Huggins (1781-1845) later Marine Painter to both George IV and William IV, began his working life as a seaman with the East India Company. Although there is no record of his visit to the Cape Colony in the 1830s, he would have visited the Cape in passing. The same year he published another view, Grahams Town - Albany.
