A view of Mortlake from the Thames with sailing boats on the river and cattle on the river bank. This is actually Barnes looking from Mortlake, with the bay window to the house which later became the residence of the composer Gustav Holst. The White Hart extreme left. From "A Collection of One Hundred Views In England and Wales", made after he turned from engraver to print publisher in 1767. The first collection was issued in 1770, and included some plates by printmakers other than himself.
