Edward III, standing whole length, to the left, in armour and plumed helmet, holding spear; armies, fort and mountains in background, lightning in the sky. Edward III(1312-1377), King of England and Duke of Aquitaine, he married Philippa of Hainault in 1329 and in 1347 he was Founder of the Order of the Garter.
