Josiah Wedgwood (1730-1795) the English potter, founder of the Wedgwood company, and credited with the industrialisation of the manufacture of pottery. A prominent abolitionist. The artist of the print is not named, but the print may derive from George Townly Stubbs' 1795 engraving of Wedgwood, expanded to include a sample of Wedgwood pottery and additional details.
