[M.DCC.XXXI. Jacques Lenfant.] [n.d. c.1731.]
Engraving. Plate 203 x 150mm (8 x 6").
Hussite Shield: three winged figures, around a shield, upon which is seen a man with a lance and sword. The Hussites were a Christian movement following the teachings of Czech reformer Jan Hus (c.1369-1415), who became one of the forerunners of the Protestant Reformation. This predominantly religious movement was propelled by social issues and strengthened Czech national awareness.
