Engraving. Platemark: 360 x 242mm. (14¼ x 9½"). Excellent impression
Portrait of the engraver Georg-Wolfgang Knorr (1705-1761). Knorr studied under under J.L. Blank and had his first great success with his illustrations for Johannes Jacob Sheuzer's "Physica sacra" (1731), through which he became interested in natural science. This portrait seems to have been commissioned by Knorr and then engraved by Johann Adam Schweikart. It was published by Knorr himself.
