Hand-coloured engraving, very fine with large margins, first issue. Paper watermarked: 1794. Plate 348 x 451mm. 13¾ x 17¾". Crease down left-hand edge, inside plate; stain spots to lower left.
A large speckled cow from Holderness, in the East Riding area of Yorkshire; in the stock at Windsor Castle, belonging to William IV. These are the original coloured prints issued at 5 shillings each. George Garrard (1760-1826) the animal painter and sculptor.
