Spooner's Magic Prints. No.12.
London: Published by William Spooner, 259 Regent St [c.1835].
Hand coloured lithograph, sheet 225 x 275mm. 9 x 10¾". Foxed & surface dirt.
A rural congregation making their way out of a church; a snow-covered landscape which will transform into a summer scene when viewed in front of strong light. This is due to the application of certain pigments in the colouring, which may still be activated. From a series by the innovative publisher of games, satires and puzzles William Spooner (1833 - 1847; fl.).
