Portraits of Martha and her sister Mary (in Catholic tradition the Magdalene), whose brother Lazarus was raised from the dead by Jesus. Engraved by Mariano Bova (a pupil of Bartolozzil) after a painting once thought to be by Leonardo but now attributed to Bernardino Luini. The painting became part of the collection of Varina Howell Davis, wife of the Confederate President Jefferson Davis, and is now exhibited at Beauvoir, the family home in Mississippi, now a museum.
