View of an Alpine-style cottage, trees surrounding and water in the foreground, with a keeper tending to fishing pots at right. Cassiobury Park in Hertfordshire was the seat of George Capell-Coningsby, 5th Earl of Essex (1757 - 1839). For J. Britton's 'The History and Description ... of Cassiobury Park... the Seat of the Earl of Essex' (1st editon 1816). Pugin senior was invited to sketch Cassiobury along with Turner by the Earl of Essex in 1797.
