Portrait of Sir Thomas Overbury, aged 32, half-length, with lace ruff, in an oval. Sir Thomas Overbury (1571-1613) was an English poet and essayist who was murdered in the Tower of London after getting involved in the affair between Frances Howard and the Earl of Somerset.
