Portrait of William Whitaker, half length in an oval, wearing cap, ruff and gown, and holding open book. William Whitaker (c.1547-1595) was a prominent Anglican theologian. He was Master of St John's College, Cambridge, and a leading divine in the university in the latter half of the 16th century.
