George Gordon, Marquis of Huntly (1592-1649), brought up in England as a Protestant and later created Viscount Aboyne by Charles I. In the Civil War he distinguished himself as a royalist, and in 1647 was excepted from the general pardon, but in 1649, having been captured and given up, he was beheaded by order of the Scottish Parliament at Edinburgh.
