Portrait of Elizabeth Hamilton, Comtesse de Gramont, as St Catherine; seated almost whole-length to left with her right hand holding robe to her breast and palm branch in her left, eyes to front, wearing loose satin robe, pearl earrings and her hair in ringlets; wheel, pillar and curtain behind. Hamilton (1641-1708) was courtier to Charles II, and married to Philibert, Count de Gramont. She was one of the Windsor Beauties.
