Medallion of François Vivares (1709-80), within a landscape background. A French engraver, he is best known for his views of England after Gainsborough, Thomas Smith of Derby and the Smiths of Chichester, many published by John Boydell. He also engraved plates for Robert and James Adam's ‘Works in Architecture,’ 1773. He was married three times and had thirty-one children!
