A memorial for Horatio Nelson, published less than three months after his death at Trafalgar. His portrait in profile is upon a monument with naval trophies above, with an officer and ordinary seaman on either side, standing on the flags of France and Spain. Above the memorial is a 20-line verse in Nelson's honour; underneath, on a banner, is his famous utterance: 'England expects that every man with do his Duty'. The ink verse records the prayer led by Nelson before the battle.
