Etching with engraving. Collector's stamp on verso, very scarce. Plate 166 x 127mm. 6½ x 5". Large margins, uncut, foxing.
Ticket. A young man stands in the centre, crowned with flowers and holding a stick. On the left a bare-breasted woman stands holding the mans hand and a flower crown in the other. A putto looking up and holding two masks towards the couple stands on the right. Shane's Castle is the home of O'Neill family in Ireland. While Bartolozzi was working in London between 1764 and 1802, the estate was owned by John, Viscount O'Neill, until 1798 and thereafter by his son, Charles Henry St John, Earl O'Neill.
