Christian IV (1577-1648), King of Denmark and Norway. He is remembered for his military and economic reforms, with the growth and expansion of the Danish navy and army, and the construction of new fortresses and new vessels. He took great pleasure in expanding Denmark's overseas trade and is remembered for a large number of buildings in the Dutch Renaissance style.
