Peter Mews (1619-1706), was an English Royalist theologian and Bishop of Winchester. It was during the Civil War that he sided with the Royalist army, and at a curcial moment during the Battle of Sedgemoor, he lent his carriage horses to pull the cannon, during which he was wounded.
