A personal invitation to an exhibition presented by C.E. Johnson. Charles Edward Johnson (1832-1913) was an English painter. This prominent art gallery was founded in 1842, and was active in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Until the 1880s there was a firm focus on eighteenth and nineteenth century British painting. After this date, they extended to Old Masters and contemporary art. A New York branch was opened in the 1900s but only lasted until its closure in 1924.
