A fat vicar with pustules on his face stands on the bank looking down at his clerk, Moses, who is waist-high in rushes, and holding up a bottle. "Giles Grinagain" is probably a pseudonym for Samuel Howitt who first published these prints in 1801 and 1802. S. W. Fores re-issued them in 1804.
