A portrait of Louis XVI, Marie Antoinette and "Fils and Fille de France", issued as a German call-to-arms, hoping to save the family: "For these sublime Unfortunates the blood of German Warriors". In 1791 Leopold (the Holy Roman Emperor and brother of Marie Antoinette) and King Frederick William II of Prussia announced the the Declaration of Pilnitz, threatening severe consequences if anything should happen to Louis and his family. Later in 1794 Louis and Marie Antoinette were executed.
