Pub according to Act June 25th. 1771 by MDarly (39) Strand.
Etching, 250 x 350mm. 9¾ x 13½".
An interior, possibly a theatre dressing room, a figure in a dressing gown sitting in the centre, his wig being powdered vigorously by an assistant;. Various other characters in the room include a black boy, a man with a parrot on his arm, a seated portly gent with an extravagant floral arrangement in his lapel, also an attendant spills his tray of tea on entering the doorway. Two macaroni pictures and a mirror on the wall. From an album of caricatures published by Mary Darly dated January 1776. It seems that her husband Matthew made the plates.
