A family watch, with mixed expressions, the silhouette of a rabbit which a man has produced using the light from a candle near his hands. Engraved by John Burnet after an early painting by David Wilkie (1785-1841). Burnet, a fellow Scotsman, had formed part of a circle around the successful Wilkie after joining him in London, and engraved several plates after paintings by Wilkie.
