Sir John Lockhart Ross, 6th Baronet (1721–9 June 1790) was an admiral of the Royal Navy. He entered the Royal Navy and became an Admiral. He was MP for Lanark from 1761 to 1768 and in 1762, he initiated land tenure reform which would later evolve into the Highland Clearances. He was MP for Lanarkshire from 1768 to 1774. In 1778 he inherited the baronetcy from his brother George Lockhart, 5th Baronet.
