Sackville Street, Dublin.
Sackville Street, Dublin.
Lithographed by Newman & Co. 48 Watling St. London.
[London, 1845.]
Tinted lithograph later hand colour. 300 x 439mm (11¾ x 17¼").
A view of the bustling traffic on Sackville Street, now known as O'Connell Street, looking towards the Nelson Pillar near the General Post Office. This is an example of the second state, with the lamp post that had been on the left removed, leaving a flaw in the design. In the third state it reappears in a more central position; a fourth and final state was published by the Stark Brothers in Sackville Street.
Bonar Law: Dublin, 4.342 (ii).
