An imaginary view of classical Daphne (modern Harbiye), a suburb of Antioch when the city was one of the most important cities of the Near East. It contained the villas of the wealthy, with fine temples and parkland, which it earned it the reputation of a pleasure paradise of loose morals. The view was 'sketched' by Abraham Ortelius and published in the 'Parergon', his atlas of the ancient world, a companion volume to his 'Theatrum Orbis Terrarum'.

Tipu Sultan (1750-99), a ruler of the kingdom of Mysore in southern India. Tipu played an important role in the Anglo-Mysore Wars fought between the kingdom of Mysore and the British East India Company, which mde him well-known to the British. He was killed in the fourth Anglo-Mysore War, which concluded the conflict and led to the East India Company taking control of much of India. Print published in the 'Carlton House Magazine' in 1792, soon after the signing of the Treaty of Seringapatam which concluded the third Anglo-Mysore War.
