The Cheesecake House was a tea room on the north side of the Serpentine mentioned in the diary of Samuel Pepys. To enter the front door visitors had to cross a rudimentary wooden bridge over a stream (probably the Tyburn Brook), as shown here, although by this time the building was being used as a boathouse. Demolished during the mid-19th century, the exact location is now unknown.
