Joseph Bonaparte (1768-1844) was the elder brother of Napoleon I of France, who made him King of Naples and Sicily (1806-1808), and later King of Spain and the Indies as Joseph I of Spain (1808-1813). From a series of plates representing members of the French Imperial family and European Kings, engraved by Ruotte or Bourgeois de la Richardière and published by Potrelle, 1805-1810.

Eugène de Beauharnais (1781-1824), stepson and adopted child of French Emperor, Napoleon I; his natural father was executed during the revolutionary Reign of Terror. He commanded the Army of Italy and was viceroy of Italy under his stepfather. Joachim-Napoleon Murat (1767-1815), Marshal of France, Grand Admiral of France, and King of Naples from 1808 to 1815. He received his titles in part by being the brother-in-law of Napoleon I, through his marriage to Napoleon's youngest sister, Caroline Bonaparte. He was noted as a flamboyant dresser and was known as 'the Dandy King'. From a series of plates representing members of the French Imperial family and European Kings, engraved by Ruotte or Bourgeois de la Richardière and published by Potrelle, 1805-1810.

Pair of colour-printed stipples, partly printed in colour, very scarce. Sheets 505 x 330, 19¾ x 13" Slightly trimmed. Slight staining on edges.
Pair of fine flower prints from Prévost's 'Collection des Fleurs et des Fruits peints d'aprés Nature'. The text names the flowers on each plate: according to Dunthorne, plate 12 shows 'Bouquet de Jacinte [Hyacinth], Auricules, Narcisse tardif, Rose Panachée, branche de Cerisier en fleur [Cherry in flower]; and 23 shows 'Bouquet en Rose blanche, Géranium, Molène [Mullein] et Gesse'. Jean Louis Prévost (c. 1760- after 1810), a very successful painter of flowers. A contemporary of Redouté, his interest was not primarily scientific: he intended his 'Collection' to be a reference work for china and fabric pattern designers.
