The most striking portrait of a Zulu warrior, published in Angas's 'The Kafirs Illustrated'. A nephew of the legendary Zulu king Shaka, he commanded a regiment during the Ndwandwe–Zulu War (1817-9). Abbey writes 'Title on plate surface', which is not the case here. The title and inscriptions given here are taken from Abbey's listing.
