John Bagger (1646-1693) was appointed Bishop of Zealand (Copenhagen) when aged only twenty-eight. He was the author of several works in Latin and Danish, and instigated the tradition of 'store bededag' ('prayer day'), a Danish public holiday. Rare: Chaloner Smith writes of only four known examples.
