Mezzotint with large margins, scarce, platemark 355 x 505mm (14 x 19¾"). Slight creasing.
Group portrait of the six children of Frederick and Augusta (identified by key below), and two dogs: (from left to right) Princess Elizabeth, Princess Augusta (holding) Prince Henry, Prince William, Prince George (the future George III, holding a bow) and Prince Edward. The Swiss painter Barthélémy du Pan (1712-63), who arrived in England in 1743 and obtained Royal Patronage soon after, painted the picture on which this print is based in 1746. The picture remains in the Royal Collection.
