Engraving by Florentine printmaker Ferdinando Gregori (1743?-1804) after a 1597 painting by Lodovico Cigoli now in the Palazzo Pitti, Florence. The influential Cigoli (1559-1613) was an important exponent of the nascent Florentine Baroque style in tune with the Counter-Reformation.
